HyboCORE® is a closed - cell rigid foam material based on polymethacrylimide and is halogen - free. The foam of the product has fine and uniform pore sizes (0.3 - 0.5 mm).
Particularly, HyboCORE® exhibits excellent elongation at break. Compared with the 4 - 5% elongation at break of traditional PMI foams, that of HyboCORE® is as high as approximately 10%. On the premise of ensuring the basic mechanical properties of the material, it significantly improves the toughness of the foam, resolving the contradiction that conventional rigid foams cannot combine processability and impact strength. HyboCORE® can withstand and absorb "impact/concentrated" loads, ensuring the integrity of the sandwich core structure after impact, and expanding the damage tolerance and damage visibility of composite structures.
Its processing technology can withstand a maximum temperature of 150°C and a maximum pressure of 0.5 MPa, making it mainly suitable for medium - temperature curing process conditions. To meet the processing requirements of workpieces with different sizes and shapes, HyboCore® can be easily processed by hot - press molding, bonded with various adhesives, or freely machined using common CNC machine tools.
HyboCore® has a significant cost advantage, being on par with PVC foam core materials. Without affecting the material cost, customers can adopt higher curing temperatures and faster curing speeds, thereby reducing processing and manufacturing costs.
